BCC ACCREDITATIONS & AFFILIATIONS

The Baguio Country Club is recognized as the forerunner in the hospitality and tourism industry in the City of Baguio and the entire Northern Luzon. In its pursuit of maintaining and improving its facilities and services to be at par with world-class hotel and membership club facilities, the Club is rated as  "Triple AAA  Resort", the highest rating  given to hotels by the Department of Tourism.





Hotel and Restaurant Association of Baguio (HRAB):

The Club, through the leadership of General Manager Anthony de Leon, initiated the creation of the HRAB on July 17, 2003 whose main objectives are to undertake programs, projects and activities that will upgrade and professionalize the hospitality and tourism industries of the City and promote the City as a premier destination for both local and foreign tourists.



 

Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines (HRAP):

A non-stock, non-profit organization, the HRAP is an umbrella organization that speaks for the hospitality industry especially for the Hotel and Restaurant sectors. Created in 1951, HRAP membership includes luxury/deluxe, first class, standard and economy hotels, leading restaurants and fastfood groups, schools and universities offering hotel and restaurant management vocational and 4-year degree courses, as well as allied industry partners. Member establishments are represented by hotel general managers, restaurant owners, university deans and HR chairs and corporate CEOs/COO.

Baguio Conventions & Visitors Bureau (BCVB):

A private sector led, non-stock, membership-based organization, is tasked to promote tourism attractions, activities, and events of Metro Baguio. It is the marketing and promotions arm of the Baguio Tourism Council (BTC) and is under the umbrella group of the North Philippine Visitors Bureau (NPVB). The BCVB is working in tandem with the Manila North Tollways Corporation (MNTC) which has given birth to the high profile marketing thrust called "Rediscover the North" through the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX).

The BCVB envisions Baguio a premier tourist and convention destination in the country within five years by encouraging and supporting efforts to improve tourist sites, services, facilities, as well as events and products. BCVB is managed by a Board of Trustees headed by Mr. Anthony de Leon, General Manager of Baguio Country Club, as Chairman.


Baguio Junior Golf Association (BJGA)
:

The Club is a home to the Baguio Junior Golf Association. Its members include minors with ages 17 years old and below who are golf enthusiasts.  Currently, the association holds monthly tournament at the Club every last Sunday of the month.

National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP):

All golfers using the golf course of the Club are required to register their respective  who wish to have an official handicap on the Club's course will have to be a member of NGAP. Annual registration fee of Php200 for members, Php600 for guest. The official handicap index will be recognize national and international to most of the golf courses.

Golfers who wish to have their respective handicap officially recognized are required to register with NGAP by paying the annual registration fee of Php200.00  for Club members and  Php600.00 for guests.


Federation of Golf Clubs of the Philippines (FGCP):

Senior Care Program offered by the club to golfers aged 60 years and above. Membership fee Php1,000 for 2 years. Seniors who are members can avail discounts to green fees to all Golf Clubs who are members of the federation.





Women's Golf Association of the Philippines  (WGAP):

This association caters to female golfers who wish to participate in golf tournaments sponsored by WGAP such as the Club hosted "Ditas Valles Invitational Golf Tournament" held at the  Club  yearly during the month of February and  the "LUZVIMIN Golf Invitational tournament" which  is held annually at Bacolod Golf and Country Club during the month of August.

Filipino-Americans Golf Association (Fil-am)

The association is a joint project of the Baguio Country Club and Camp John Hay that started in 1949. Both clubs host the annual Men's Invitational Golf Tournament, the longest and highly participated amateur gold tournament ever recorded in the "World's Guinness Book of Records".

This two-week tournament, which is held on the last week of November and first week of December, is being participated golfers around the world in two categories, namely the Seniors Division and the Regular Division.

ACCREDITATIONS

The Club has received numerous awards and citations for its fine facilities and services and for its support and active involvement in various social and civic activities, for being:

 

1.A National Historical Institute:

On February 18, 2005, during its centennial anniversary, the Club unveiled a National Historical Marker, a recognition bestowed by the National Historical Institute of the Philippines. This marker , which is written in English and in Filipino, is now on display at the main entrance of the Club. This marker signifies that the Baguio Country Club  is integrally linked to the history of the City of Baguio considering that its founding fathers and some of its original members were among those who played the leading roles in the making and building  of Baguio.


2. A forefront in the tourism industry and an icon of pride of the City of Baguio.

The Triple "A" rating by the Department of Tourism is a testimony to the Club's high standards in quality of service and facilities. Because of its afforested surroundings, well-maintained, state-of-the-art, Cordillera motif, and excellent facilities and services, the  Club continues to be a  favourite and preferred venue in accommodating foreign dignitaries, government officials, famous personalities, etc.

The Club's  Hamada Japanese Restaurant was voted twice as one of the Best Japanese Restaurants by respondents of the survey conducted by the Philippine Tatler in 2007 and 2008.

Its active involvement and participation in the yearly "Panagebenga" continue to bring honor, fame and glory to the City. After winning first place in the Float Parade for three consecutive yeas from 2001 to 2003 that led to becoming a "Hall of Fame" awardee, the Club continues to participate in the said yearly parade, not to compete, but to showcase the artistic skills of the people of Baguio and that Baguio reigns as the best producer of assorted flowers.

In October 2005 the Club in coordination with Carousel Productions, Inc. brought and provided accommodation to the thirty (32) candidates of the 2005 Ms. Earth Pageant. These candidates together with their respective entourage that came from different countries of the world were given opportunity to tour and discover the culture, the products and the people of Baguio.


3. An advocate of sports.


The Club continues to support, promote, provide venues and provide sponsorship for sports events and activities to both the local and foreign sports enthusiasts, such as  golf, bowling, chess, scrabble, swimming, billiards, darts etc., as evidence by the many awards and citations it received from the city government and various socio, civic and private organizations.

4. A Club giving aid to the distressed and less privileged.

After Baguio was struck by the killer quake on July 16, 1990 that made all roads to Baguio impassable, the then Club's President and "Chairman for Life" Atty. Potenciano "Nanoy" Ilusorio, allowed the golf course of the Club as the landing ground for helicopters bringing relief goods to the people of Baguio.

During the killer typhoon "Feria" in 2001, the Club accommodated, fed and provided financial and medical assistance to families and residents of the Country Club Village who vacated their homes for fear of land erosion and flash floods.

The Club and its employees regularly donate food, toys, canned goods, blankets, towels and other items to various charitable institutions, such as Lingap, Gethsemane House, Association of the Blinds, Tahanang Walang Hagdan etc.

The Club regularly supports the medical and emergency teams of the City, such as Baguio  Fire Department, Philippine National Red Cross, EMS, 911, Philippine National Police, etc.

5. As a learning institution.


The Club continues to cater to various schools and universities by providing exposure, hands-on training and orientation and seminars to their students taking up courses on Hotel and Restaurant Management, Home Economics and Culinary Arts. At present the Club has "practicum" arrangements with various colleges and universities of the country.

The Club likewise provides cross training and orientation programs to professional service providers of various hotels, restaurants and hospitality establishments of the City. 


6. As a promoter of reforestation/ re-greening programs and environmental awareness:


The Club has always been a active partner in the reforestation, re-greening and environmental conservation programs with the City government, agencies and organizations.

7. As a job provider and career developer


The Club continues to nurture, develop and help employees attain their career or professional goals through rigid training, seminar, cross-training and exposure with fine hotels and properties in Manila. Programs to improve the health, livelihood and well-being of employees are likewise in place.

On June 26, 2002, the Club bagged the Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines (HRAP) Hospitality Award for the Club's  extraordinary contribution to the growth and development of Philippine Tourism, for its pioneering spirit and initiatives in human resource development leading to professionalization in the ranks of industry personnel.
